Monitoring of potential-free contacts/outputs - remote alarm & alarm forwarding
- Monitoring of potential-free contacts/switches
- Reed switches on gates, doors or windows
- Float switches, e.g. on pumps
- Signal relays on ventilation and cooling, e.g. medication refrigerators per DIN 58345
- Alarm fault outputs on heating systems
- Alarm forwarding from smoke devices to any number of receivers (smoke device dialer)
The COMOTIX® Contact has a 1.50 m cable with two exposed ends. You can connect these ends to a variety of contacts.
Settings
The desired settings for contact monitoring can be made in the single-melder view (via the Devices view). Here you can set, for example, whether an alarm should be sent when the connected contact is opened or closed:

Step 2

How to check the sensor function
- Press the “Test” button. A short beep sounds.
- Now close and reopen the contacts (potential-free contacts) or keep the Reed switch and magnet close enough together (Reed contact); a signal tone sounds if everything is in order.
- Thus it is guaranteed that the Reed switch and magnet or the wire ends (for potential-free contacts) are installed correctly. The test mode ends automatically after 2 minutes, or you can end it early by pressing the “Test” button again.
- Finally, the device sends a “Ready for operation” message.
